Dermal fillers are commonly used to treat lines around the mouth (nasolabial folds), marionette lines, cheeks, lips, and under-eye hollows. They can also be used for non-surgical nose reshaping and hand rejuvenation.

The duration of dermal filler results varies depending on the type of filler used and individual factors. Typically, hyaluronic acid fillers last 6–18 months, calcium hydroxyapatite fillers last up to 12 months, and poly-L-lactic acid fillers can last up to 2 years.

The dermal filler injection procedure is generally well-tolerated. Most fillers contain a local anesthetic (lidocaine) to minimize discomfort during the injections. Patients may experience mild swelling or bruising, which usually resolves quickly.
